I bet you didn't know that "tornadic" is a word. We didn't either until the other day. The local weather man used it repeatedly while keeping us informed on the state of the crazy weather we were having. Every station had the news on reporting on the threat of more tornados. It was a pretty crazy day. When the area of city it which you live is thought to be in a real tornado threat really loud sirens (air rade like) sound telling you that you should stay inside and preferably in your basement or in a room most protected from the outside. The sirens were constantly sounding in our neighborhood for about 2 and half hours. Most of the time I was outside looking at the amazing clouds and taking a couple pictures/videos here and there. Erin and the boys spent quite a bit of time in the bathroom watching Toy Story II on the portable DVD player. At one point I too went inside because the news man was reporting that Down Town Omaha was in direct line with the next real threat. Since we live down town I thought it might be appropriate to go inside and hide in the bathroom. We were about 35 minutes away from the nearest tornado that actually touched down. We were about a 45 minute drive away from the tornado that went through the boy scout camp. Fortunately for us nothing happened too close to our home. I post a couple of the pictures I grabbed while I was outside. Their not the best, but our camera isn't the best either.

i bet peyton just loved playing in the bathroom. looks pretty comfy in there.
Yah, I caught some pretty amazing photos as well. I'm glad everyone is safe. We were just glad for my long life computer bateries, so the kids could watch a movie in our basement on the computer. I'll remember next time to use the movie camera to capture te tornado stuff, and not just the still camera. Thats a cool reminder.
I'm glad that you guys were safe. So I hear that you are going to be in Utah this summer, is that right? We would love to see you!!!!
That is exciting and terrifying at the same time. I'm a weather fanatic, so this stuff is really cool. But I would really rather see it on the computer or tv than be under it. Thanks for risking your life for some cool pictures! :) Glad nothing came down in your neck of the woods. That was really sad about the boy scout encampment.
